Reese Signs with Rampage

SAN ANTONIO -

The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the club has signed former Harvard defenseman Dylan Reese to a one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract. The deal also has an option for a second year.

The 23-year-old registered four points (all assists) and 12 penalty minutes in 10 games with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack last season after completing his four-year collegiate career with Harvard.

Reese, the captain of the Crimson squad last year, was selected to the 2006-07 All-ECAC Hockey Second Team for the second straight year. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound blueliner was the recipient of the John Tudor Memorial Cup as Harvard's most valuable player after leading all Crimson defensemen for the third consecutive year after posting 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists) in 33 games. He also led ECAC Hockey defensemen and tied for sixth overall in the league with eight power-play goals.

In his collegiate career, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native compiled 21 goals and 40 assists for 61 points in 122 games. Reese, an economics concentrator, was selected to the New England Hockey Writers Division-I Men's All-Star and ECAC Hockey All-Academic teams his senior year. The seventh-round pick by the New York Rangers in the 2003 NHL Draft had his best season as a junior leading Harvard defensemen with 19 points (4g, 15a) in 33 games and being tabbed to the ECAC Hockey Championship All-Tournament Team while capturing his first  All-ECAC Hockey honor.
