Welch Opts for Shoulder Surgery

SUNRISE - For two weeks, Noah Welch spun options and doctors'
advice through his head. Admittedly, he's lost sleep over what to
do about his nagging right shoulder injury.
Wednesday, the Panthers defenseman finally made the tough decision.
He's opting for surgery. Now.
"It's something that's going to happen in the next couple of days,"
Welch said. "I'd say at the very latest Monday or Tuesday next
week."
