Dartmouth to Host NBC Sports Network Game
ALBANY, N.Y. -- On Monday NBC Sports Network announced it will
add an additional game to its existing 2012-13 college hockey
schedule as its cameras head to Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H.
Wednesday, December 5 when Dartmouth welcomes Vermont in a
Wednesday’s televised game between the Big Green and the Catamounts will air live on NBC Sports Network at 7 p.m. further increasing college hockey coverage by the network. Mike Emrick, lead play-by-play announcer for National Hockey League (NHL) national telecasts on NBC Sports, and Pierre McGuire analyst for NHL broadcasts on NBC Sports in the United States will be calling the action between to the two former ECAC Hockey travel partners. The network reaches more than 80 million homes across the United States.
This season’s schedule, which marks the second consecutive time that the NBC Sports Network will air college hockey games, was developed through partnerships with numerous collegiate hockey associations and universities. NBC Sports Network cameras will soak in the atmosphere at campuses across America including legendary ECAC Hockey venues like Hobey Baker Rink in Princeton (January 11) and Lynah Rink in Ithaca (January 25).
Additional regular-season highlights of this year’s schedule include defending regular-season and tournament champions, and 2012 Frozen Four participant Union travelling to Princeton on Jan. 11; Harvard visiting Yale on Jan. 18; Cornell hosting Yale on Jan. 25; Dartmouth taking on Union at Messa Rink on Feb. 1; and Yale venturing to Quinnipiac, facing-off in an intra-state rivalry.
