The Dartmouth men’s hockey team begins 2012 hoping to build on the success and team chemistry it built in the final month of 2011. After going 2-0-1 in December, enduring a tough shootout loss in the final of the Ledyard National Bank Classic to St. Lawrence University along the way, the Big Green (6-5-2, 3-3-1 ECAC) will face its first test of the new year when it travels to play Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday and Union College on Saturday.

Early in December, the team made its annual visit to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth to donate gifts for a toy drive. Eric Robinson ’14 said the drive was a great experience for the team and that all the time the team spent together over break helped bring the team closer.

“Having the opportunity to give back to the community and participate in something like the toy drive is great,” Robinson said. “Over break, we practiced a lot, watched movies, played video games together and really built team chemistry. Each player and every line is developing an identity, which is going to be key in being successful.”
