Boucher Snags CHL Goaltender-of-Month Honors

FORT WAYNE, IN -- The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced Thursday that Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Nick Boucher, a former Dartmouth standout, has been named the Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month for December, 2011.

Boucher, 31, appeared in 12 of 14 Komets games during December leading CHL goalies with a 10-1-1 record, 2.04 goals-against average and .930 save percentage. During the month the veteran netminder made 321 saves on 345 shots faced and posted two shutouts. Boucher finished the month riding a seven-game unbeaten string (7-0-1) and five-game win streak.

Boucher completed December leading CHL goaltenders overall with an 18-4-1 record, 2.21 goals-against average and three shutouts in 24 games played.

The Leduc, Alberta native is serving his fifth straight season with the Komets and ninth as a pro. Boucher also was named CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Dec. 11.

Boucher will be the starting goaltender for the 2012 CHL All-Star Game. He and teammate Brett Smith will represent Fort Wayne at the CHL All-Star Game in Prescott Valley, Arizona next Wednesday, Jan. 11, when the CHL All-Stars play the Arizona Sundogs.
