One reason the Fort Wayne Komets have a chance in any
playoff series is because Nick Boucher is their last line of
defense. With three rings, he has more championship experience than
any other Central Hockey League goaltender. Twice he's brought the
Komets back from 3-1 deficits to win series, and he's always played
his best in the biggest moments.
This year may be his biggest challenge, as the Komets will always
be the underdog as long as they can last.
“We've had so many ups and downs all season, confidence has
been low at times for everyone,” Boucher said. “It's
not really been a typical year for us. Usually we're coming into
the playoffs on a pretty good run and confidence is pretty high
from having a successful, Fort Wayne-type of
year.”
