JT Wyman’s quick ascension through the ranks of the NHL came as a surprise to hardly anyone. After being selected in the fourth round, 100th overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Wyman was a standout in the collegiate hockey tier at Dartmouth where he served as a four-year letterman and was also named team assistant captain.

He made his NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens in 2009-10 after playing just one full season in the American Hockey League, and continued to flourish in Montreal’s top AHL affiliate until being acquired by the Lightning this past summer. He made his Bolts debut on Dec. 23 at Colorado, and on top of the memories he has already made in his young NHL career, he’ll never forget the goal that started it all.

“Honestly I wasn’t even trying to score,” Wyman said. “In its simplest form, my goal was just to get the puck on net and get it through to create something out in front.”
