Peet Finds Niche on Pit Row

Even though he spent much of his professional hockey career skating in NASCAR country, Shaun Peet never envisioned that someday, he’d earn a living from the sport.

“Absolutely not,” said the Nanaimo, B.C.-born Peet.

“I remember I was playing hockey in Macon, Georgia. As we were going out on the ice for the third period, one of the team personnel people came up to me and said, ‘Hey, Dale Earnhardt just died.’
