Lindblad Named Dartmouth Athlete of Week

HANOVER, N.H. - Each week, DartmouthSports.com spotlights two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Dartmouth's Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

This week's Cross High-Performance Male Athlete of the Week - Matt Lindblad - went above and beyond leading the Big Green. Lindblad, a freshman, recorded three points in a 7-3 victory against Colgate on Saturday.

Dartmouth Male Athlete of the Week:
Matt Lindblad (Winnetka, Ill.), Men's Hockey, Freshman, Forward
Freshman Matt Lindblad (Winnetka, Ill.) got back to the scoring he saw earlier this season with three points in a 7-3 win over Colgate last weekend. Lindblad, who has been sick the last couple of weeks, was finally back to full strength and he showed it when he tipped the puck into the back of the net early in the second period to give the Big Green a 3-1 lead. In the final two goals of the contest, he made two heads-up plays that resulted in the sixth and seventh goals for Dartmouth. He is Dartmouth's highest scoring rookie this season with 17 points and was a +5 in two games last week for the Big Green.
