VANCOUVER — Tanner Glass isn’t exactly the first Vancouver Canuck that comes to mind when you think of skill players. Nor is he the second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth for that matter.
No offence — and we mean that quite literally.
Glass had all of five goals and 13 points in 111 NHL games heading into this year. The key word being “had.” The 27-year-old winger is nearly halfway toward matching his career totals, with two goals and six points in 22 games this season. Glass was on the ice for more than 15 minutes in Friday’s 6-1 win over the San Jose Sharks, most of that spent playing up on the team’s third line, where he assisted on the first of Mikael Samuelsson’s two goals and finished a plus-2 on the night.
