Penguins Want Johnson to Play with More Intensity

If Pittsburgh Penguins training camp had been a game of musical chairs, winger Nick Johnson would have been eliminated the first time the music stopped.

All the leading candidates to earn a top-six forward job on the NHL roster - from Eric Tangradi to Brett Sterling to Dustin Jeffrey - got chances to play alongside Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin in scrimmages or exhibition games.

Johnson never did.
