Being a Dartmouth athlete is not solely about speed, aggression or agility, but is also about a passion and a love for the game. As athletes, they take this infatuation to the field. As students, they take this passion to the classroom. And after graduation, they take it to the world. Such is the case with Michael Bracco ’94 — a former Big Green ice hockey goaltender turned high school ice hockey coach. Today, Bracco sees the ice from a different point of view — behind the bench of the Jericho High School hockey team in Long Island, N.Y.
While at Dartmouth, Bracco earned ECAC All-Rookie honors his first year and continued to help shut down high-powered ECAC offenses throughout his tenure at the Big Green.
Bracco has traded in his pads for a whistle and is now reviving the Jericho program. He is working alongside his brother, Nick, and team manager Ian Weinberg, to coach his son, Evan, and bring Jericho hockey back to life.
