Boucher Putting on Pads Down Under

The following article featuring former Dartmouth standout Nick Boucher appeared on the Sydney Bears Web site.

Little time has been given to the goaltender to recover from jetlag, but Nick Boucher is used to jetsetting in the name of his sport.

Before the Fort Wayne Komets, his IHL team, Boucher lead a successful career in Europe and North America, playing in the top leagues of England and the Netherlands.

This is only one week after his victory in his third consecutive Turner Cup final with the Komets, the Canadian goaltender finished the season with a .921 save percentage.

Backed up by .915 save percentage in play-offs shows the Bears have a promising net minder coming their way.

Bears coach Vlad Rubes wasn’t kidding when he claimed “you don't get players like Nick to come Australia every year”.

Not only is Boucher a three time IHL Champion, but has twice been the Goaltender of the Season, and runner up Most Valuable Player.

Rubes stated “His experience from not just playing in the Pro Leagues but also being the essential member of the Championship teams will be tremendous.”

“It always gives the team a massive portion of confidence when they know there is someone who can steal the games for them and can drive the other team crazy.”

The puck drops at 5pm on Saturday for Boucher’s AIHL debut.
