Can a young NHL power forward's "breakthrough" season last only 23 games?
If so, then Avalanche winger David Jones probably had that season in 2009-10, getting 10 goals before suffering a knee injury against the Wild on Nov. 28 at the Pepsi Center.
After surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, Jones practiced with the Avs late in the regular season and in the playoffs but didn't make the lineup before Colorado was eliminated in a first-round loss to the Sharks.
