Shields to Showcase Skills in Binghamton
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed left wing Connor Shields, a former Dartmouth standout, to a professional try-out contract.
Shields, 26, appeared in 70 games this season with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL where he led the team in points with 62 (28 goals, 34 assists) and amassed 56 penalty minutes.
The Edmonton, Alberta native appeared in the 2010 ECHL All-Star game on Jan. 20, notching two points (one goal, one assist) for the American Conference.
Shields appeared in one game with the Norfolk Admirals on Jan. 6 (a 5-4 Admirals victory over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton), recording no points and ending the evening with a plus-minus ranking of plus-one.
In 2008-09, Shields completed his senior
season at Dartmouth College, where he finished ranked second
overall on the team in goals with nine. In four seasons with the
Big Green, Shields recorded 49 points (19 goals, 30 assists) in 105
career collegiate games.
