HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's hockey team is ready
for its second season to begin with an ECAC Hockey first round
playoff date with Quinnipiac this weekend, March 5, 6 and 7 if
necessary. The Big Green will take on the Bobcats at the TD
Banknorth Sports Center in Hamden, Conn., at 7:00 pm on all three
days. The first round is a best-of-three series. It's the first
time that Dartmouth and Quinnipiac have ever met in the
playoffs.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac finished the regular season seventh in the ECAC Hockey
standings with a 17-15-2 overall record, 11-11 in the league. The
Bobcats won both of their games last weekend snapping a three-game
losing streak. Quinnipiac has won four and tied one out of the last
10 games they’ve played.
The Bobcats started the season strong winning 12 out of its first
13 games. But then a 10-game nonwinning streak ensued and
Quinnipiac found itself struggling to stay afloat.
The Bobcats are currently being led by senior Brandon Wong with a
total of 37 points. He also leads the squad in goals scored with 17
and power play goals with 12. He’s also notched four game
winners. Classmates Eric Lampe and Jean-Marc Beaudoin are not far
behind with 33 and 30 points, respectively.
