Stephens Earns All-League Accolades

ALBANY, N.Y. -- In conjunction with the beginning of the 49th annual 2010 ECAC Men’s Hockey Championship presented by Bank of America and Hilton Garden Inn, Albany Medical Center the first set of 2009-10 postseason awards was announced by the ECAC Hockey office. After a nomination and voting process was conducted by the League’s coaches, three all-league teams and an all-rookie team were named.

Stephens earns his second ECAC Third Team honors in three seasons. As a freshmen the Bessemer, Mich. native was chosen third team as well as being named to the All-Rookie team.

This season Stephens has been the Big Green's top scoring defenseman and currently has 19 points. He finished the regular season as the league's second highest scoring blueliner and is 24th nationally. He is just Dartmouth's second defenseman to earn all league honors in the past seven seasons.

Dartmouth started the year slow but has come on strong in the month of February. Currently the Big Green has won or tied six of its last eight games and is headed to Quinnipiac for the first round of the ECAC playoffs. Dartmouth takes on the Bobcats this weekend in a best-of-three series.
