Boucher Tabbed as IHL Goaltender of Month
ROCHESTER, MI -- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced
Tuesday that Fort Wayne goaltender Nick Boucher, a former Dartmouth
standout, has been named the Meijer IHL Goaltender of the Month for
the month of January.
Boucher completed the month posting a 3-1-0-0 record in six games
played. He finished the month on a two-game win streak and has
appeared in the Komets last four straight games. Boucher made a
total of 163 saves, giving him a .953 save percentage and a 1.71
goals against average. In all six appearances, he never allowed
more than two goals to hit the back of the net, only allowing eight
goals against for the month of January. The 29-year-old Cobble
Hill, British Columbia native is currently third among IHL
goaltenders in save percentage with .920, just .01 percent behind
the two netminders tied for first. He is also fourth in goals
against average with 2.55.
This is the first Goaltender of the Month award for Boucher this
year after also collecting the Goaltender of the Week award for the
week ending Nov. 1. Boucher, last year's IHL Goaltender of the
Year, has been honored as the league's Goaltender of the Month four
times and Goalie of the Week seven times since joining the Komets
in 2007-08
2009-10 is Boucher's third straight season with the Komets after
capturing back-to-back IHL Turner Cup Championships. He appeared in
his 100th Fort Wayne career game during the month on Tuesday, Jan.
26 at Port Huron.
