Team Notes: Dartmouth Hosts Ledyard National Bank Classic

HANOVER, N.H. The Dartmouth men's hockey team welcomes
2010 by hosting the Ledyard National Bank Classic. The Big Green
rolls out the welcome mat to Northeastern, UMass Lowell and Holy
Cross at Thompson Arena for games on Jan. 2 and Jan. 3. On
Saturday, UML and Holy Cross square off at 4:00 with the Big Green
taking on Northeastern at 7:00. Game times for Sunday are also 4:00
and 7:00. Tickets are still available and are $12 and $6 and can be
purchased at the Dartmouth ticket office or at the Thompson Arena
box office.
THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
The Dartmouth men's hockey team hosts its annual tournament, the
Ledyard National Bank Tournament. Northeastern, UMass Lowell and
Holy Cross have all made the trek to Hanover as UML and Holy Cross
will matchup in the first game while Dartmouth and Northeastern
will clash in the nightcap.
DARTMOUTH-NORTHEASTERN SERIES HISTORY
Dartmouth and Northeastern have been meeting since a 7-0 Big Green
win on Dec.
21, 1935. The last time these two met was in 2000 when the Huskies
took a 2-1 win in Boston and then won 3-2 in Thompson Arena the
next year. Northeastern is on a four-game win streak over the Big
Green as Dartmouth has not won a game between the two since a 5-4
victory on Dec. 30, 1992.
