Team Notes: Dartmouth Hosts Harvard to Open Season

HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's hockey team ushers in the
2009-10 season with a matchup against Harvard on Friday night in
Thompson Arena. The contest is against one of the Big Green's
longest running rivals. Students are encouraged to show up early as
the first 200 in the door will receive a "Bleed Green" Dartmouth
t-shirt.
TONIGHT'S GAME
The Dartmouth men's hockey team kicks off the 2009-10 season
against the Harvard Crimson for the second straight year. Since
1997-98 the Big Green and the Crimson have met in the season opener
five times with Harvard winning all but once.
SERIES HISTORY
Dartmouth and Harvard have been rivals since a Crimson win on Feb.
16, 1907. Harvard is currently the Big Green's second longest
running series. The Crimson hold a
123-53-9 lead in the series as Harvard won the first contest last
season before the two tied in the second. Dartmouth's last victory
was on Oct. 27, 2006.
