Lovejoy Remains with Pittsburgh
The Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins have signed former
Dartmouth defenseman Ben Lovejoy to a one-year contract, it was
announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray
Shero.
Lovejoy, 25, recorded seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in
76 games for the Penguins’ AHL affiliate in
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2008-09. He also made his NHL debut with
the Penguins, going scoreless in two games. Lovejoy practiced with
the Penguins during the Stanley Cup playoffs but did not appear in
a playoff game.
The 6-foot-2, 214-pound native of Canaan, NH played college hockey
at Dartmouth before turning pro.
