HANOVER, N.H. -- The Dartmouth men's hockey team is gearing up
for a road weekend at Brown and Yale. The Big Green is looking to
earn two league wins in a row as Dartmouth is currently in a tie
for third in the league standings. The Big Green has tied three of
its last four contests as Dartmouth has not put two wins together
since Dec. 28 and 29. Earlier this season Dartmouth split with
Brown and Yale.
SCOUTING BROWN
Brown is currently on a three-game losing streak as the Bears have
not had a win since a 4-1 victory over Colgate on Jan. 23. Brown
earned back-to-back ties against Western Michigan and Harvard on
Jan. 3 and 9 but that’s the only time the Bears have been
able to string together a non-losing streak. Currently Brown is
being led by senior Matt Vokes with 18 points while freshman Jeff
Buvinow has added 13. Senior Ryan Garbutt and junior Jordan Pietrus
are the only other two players in double-figure scoring with 10
apiece. Three goalies have seen time in net but Dan Rosen seems to
have carried the bulk of the load appearing in 14 games. Mike
Clemente has played in seven games and Mark Sibbald has played in
three. Rosen has a .900 save percentage and a 3.93 GAA. He sports a
1-10-3 record.
VERSUS BROWN
Dartmouth and Brown have been meeting since Feb. 22, 1928 when
Dartmouth came away with a 15-0 win at home. That victory began a
12-game win streak for the Big Green. The Bears bounced back with
several win streaks in the seventies and eighties as the series is
almost even as Dartmouth leads 65-63-7. Brown swept the series last
season but this year the Big Green scored a 5-1 victory at home.
