Perhaps the player who made the greatest improvement from the beginning of the season until the end was 20-year-old center T.J. Galiardi. In his first year as a professional, the native of Calgary, Alberta, played the final 11 games of the season with Lake Erie's NHL affiliate, the Colorado Avalanche, recording four points (3G, 1A) and six penalty minutes in the NHL.
Colorado's second round draft pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Galiardi came in fourth in scoring on the Monsters with 27 points (10G, 17A). The western Canadian's nine power play points (3G, 6A) were good for fourth on the team and his 17 helpers were fourth among all Monsters players.
