Lewis Reassigned by Atlanta

Former Dartmouth standout Grant Lewis, who was recalled from the Chicago Wolves on March 2 and made his NHL debut for the Thrashers last night against the Florida Panthers, has been reassigned to the Wolves.

The 24-year-old has registered 21 assists in 51 games with the Wolves this season. The 6-3, 205-pound defenseman is tied for the team lead with a plus-17 rating and is tied for fourth on the Wolves with 21 assists.

The Pittsburgh, Penn., native has collected 37 points (two goals, 35 assists) in 94 career regular season games with the Wolves. He also appeared in two post-season games with Chicago in 2008, en route to the Calder Cup Championship.

Prior to his professional career, Lewis spent four seasons at Dartmouth College from 2003 to 2007, recording 77 points (13 goals, 64 assists) in 120 games. Following the 2003-04 season, Lewis was selected to the ECAC First All-Star Team, becoming the first freshman in more than 30 years to be given that honor.

Lewis was selected by the Thrashers in the second round, 40th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
