When the Blues' 2007-08 season ended in Columbus, Ohio, on April 6, Blues winger Lee Stempniak shut the door on it and didn't look back.

It was a less-than-memorable year for Stempniak, who saw his scoring total drop almost in half, from 27 goals in 2006-07 to 14 in '07-08. He was glad to see it end.

"My big thing this summer was putting last season behind me,'' Stempniak said. "After the game with Columbus, I looked forward to the world championships, tried to do well there and build off that. I was looking forward to the start of training camp all summer.''
