Tanner's Take: Snow, Turkey and Hockey
The following blog featuring former Dartmouth standout Tanner Glass appeared November 25 on the Florida Panthers Web site.
Tanner Glass, who gained a loyal following last year both as a
Panther and Rochester American with his gritty, physical play, will
provide periodic updates during the season on life as a
professional hockey player.
Glass split his time last season between the NHL and American
Hockey League, playing in 43 games with the Amerks and 41 with the
Panthers.

So our first real snowfall is upon us here in Rochester and it
feels like winter is here to stay. With the start of winter also
comes the start of the holiday season which is always a great time
of year. Hopefully, Thanksgiving being right around the corner will
bring some good energy and a refreshing spirit to the team. With
the kind of start we've had, the challenge is to remain positive
and believe that the work we are putting in will begin to pay off
sooner rather than later.
This past Saturday night we had a break in our schedule so I was
able to take in the Dartmouth-Cornell game in Ithaca and reconnect
with some old teammates and coaches. Unfortunately, my alma mater
fell to the Big Red 3-1, but not due to lack of effort. The boys
are playing hard and I wish them all the best moving forward.
My birthday is just around the corner and I think my girlfriend
bought me the Nintendo Wii. I am not a big gamer but I am so
excited to play Mario Kart. I had the super Nintendo version all
through college and I can't wait to invite the boys over to play. A
few weeks ago Rory had the team over and I played Wii tennis with
his sons. I think “Fitzy” will have to bring them over
for a rematch because they beat me pretty badly and I need to
redeem myself.
