Wyman Inks Deal with Montreal

MONTREAL -- Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Tuesday the signing of forward James T. Wyman to a two-year contract (2008-09 and 2009-10). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Wyman will report to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Thursday, March 20.

In 2007-08, as a senior with the Dartmouth Big Green, Wyman played 29 games, leading the team with 15 goals and ranking second in scoring with 30 points (15-15). The 22-year-old assistant captain with Dartmouth registered personal bests in the ECAC for goals, assists, and points.

Wyman, a native of Edina, Minnesota compiled 85 points (41 goals, 44 assists) and 48 penalty minutes in 123 games during his four-year college career with the Ivy League school.

Wyman was selected in the fourth round by the Canadiens (100th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft following an MVP campaign at The Blake School. That season, the 6-foot-2, 204-pound right winger collected 55 points (31 goals, 23 assists) in 24 games and was a finalist for the Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award.
