Johnson Headed to Wheeling
WILKES-BARRE, PA -– The Pittsburgh Penguins have
re-assigned former Dartmouth forward Nick Johnson from the
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers, it was
announced on Friday.
Johnson, 22, has not appeared in a game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
this season. The rookie forward appeared in four regular season
games with the Penguins last season, recording one assist. He also
suited up for 10 playoff games, recording one assist and two
penalty minutes.
The Calgary native played four seasons at Dartmouth College,
recording 125 points (57+68) in 133 games. Johnson ranks 10th on
Dartmouth’s all-time scoring list, and was named the Ivy
League Rookie of the Year in 2005. He was Pittsburgh’s third
round choice (67th overall) in the 2004 NHL Draft.
