Video: Jones' Goal Named Avalanche Play of Week
A highlight reel tally from former Dartmouth forward David Jones
took home Avalanche Play of the Week honors for the Dec. 5-11
timeframe. Jones' goal garnered 45.76% of fan voting.
The winning tally beat out Chris Stewart's first career NHL goal
on Dec. 9 vs. Los Angeles (28.95%) and Marek Svatos' marker that
sent the game to overtime on Dec. 5 at Dallas (25.29%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end
“Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to
be determined by Avalanche fans.

will be posted for you to vote upon.
Jones Goes Airborne - 12/7 vs. Vancouver
Forward David Jones scored this goal by hustling from one end of
the ice to the other before trying to split the defense by hopping
around Vancouver defender Shane O’Brien. The Canucks’
blueliner got a piece of him, but Jones stayed with the play and
– while suspended in mid-air – was able to somehow get
his stick on the puck and knock it past Cory Schneider at 5:14.
