The kid with the generic name is getting the star treatment.
David Jones, the late call-up whose play was a pleasant surprise
last season, will start on the top line tonight when the Avalanche
opens a new season against the Boston Bruins.
Jones, 24, will skate at right wing on a line with Joe Sakic and
Wojtek Wolski. Considering he started last season in the minor
leagues and still is only a little more than a year removed from
playing at Dartmouth, Jones' ascent has been somewhat startling.
