Goaltender Kevin Reiter got the nickname "Rides" because a coach once said his team was going to hop on Reiter until a hot streak ended. Right now the Komets don't have any choice but to hope Reiter goes on a long tear.

The Komets won the game Thursday night, beating Bloomington 6-3 before a Memorial Coliseum crowd of 7,188, but they lost goaltender Nick Boucher for an undetermined amount of time with a third-period groin pull. Boucher, the International Hockey League's top goaltender so far this season, had to be helped from the ice.

"We'll just have to see how severe it is," Komets coach Al Sims said.
