Abbott Receives Extension to Stay in Sweden
Luleå Hockey (Sweden) announced Tuesday that it has reached agreement with former Cornell standout Chris Abbott on a two-year contract extension. Abbott joined Luleå Hockey in 2009-10.
"We want the association to work with continuity and have identified (Chris) as an important piece of the future of Luleå Hockey," said Lars "Osten" Bergström..
Abbott has appeared in 153 games over the course of three seasons with Luleå, compiling 39 goals and 56 assists. In 46 games this season, Abbott has netted nine goals and set up 17 tallies. He amassed 36 points, including 17 goals, in 55 games last season.
I'm really looking forward to staying with the team for next two seasons," Abbott said. "I love living (in Sweden) and playing for Luleå Hockey and wearing club mark with pride.
