David McKee is a 27-year-old hockey goalie who has earned the right to speak with sage-like wisdom.
His life to this point has been more than a journey – perhaps "pilgrimage" or "quest" are more suiting words. In a span of 10 years, McKee has been accused and acquitted of rape, surmounted dyslexia and attention deficit disorder to attend an Ivy League school and, despite the literal and figurative trials, still managed to become a professional hockey player.
The Quad City Mallards signed the six-year professional goalie on Thursday.
