Scrivens Happy to Get the Call

PHILADELPHIA—Ben Scrivens watched what happened to James Reimer last year as the former No. 5 goalie on the depth chart rose to top of the pecking order.
Like Reimer, Scrivens was deemed to be the fifth-best goalie in the Leaf organization, putting in his time with the ECHL last year.
Dues paid, eyebrows raised, it was Scrivens who got the call from the Maple Leafs on Monday on an emergency basis to back up Jonas Gustavsson with Reimer out with whiplash.
