Vesce Remains with Torpedo of KHL
Former Cornell standout Ryan Vesce will continue to showcase his skills in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) having agreed to terms with Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo for the 2011-12 season, the team announced. Vesce joined the Torpedo in 2010-11.
The Lloyd Harbor, New York, native excelled in the KHL, compiling 25 goals and 23 assists for 48 points in 51 contests.
Vese played nine games with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL) and 35 games with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Worcester Sharks in 2009-10. He amassed three goals and two assists with San Jose, and 14 goals and 16 assists with Worcester. Vesce competed in the AHL All-Star game in 2008-09.
Vesce returns to the European landscape for the third time. He played in Sweden in 2004-05 and Finland in 2007-08.
A member of the Big Red from 2000-04, Vesce scored 46 times as a collegian, and set up 82 tallies in 131 contests.
