Canadiens Assign Nash to Hamilton
MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that former Cornell defenceman Brendon Nash has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Nash, 23, played his first two NHL games with Montreal after being recalled on February 15. Nash has played in 50 games with the Bulldogs this season recording 23 points (three goals, 20 assists) while serving 41 penalty minutes and tying for second on the 'Dogs with a +12 rating.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defender led all defencemen in scoring with 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 33 games with Cornell University last season. In four full seasons with Cornell, the native of Kamloops, British Columbia posted 67 points (eight goals, 59 assists) and 173 penalty minutes. Nash signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on March 30, 2010.
