Cornell Pursuing a Playoff Bye

ITHACA -- Still searching for its first hiccup-free weekend of the season, the Cornell men's hockey team finds itself in unfamiliar territory heading into its final four regular-season games -- in control of its own destiny.

The Big Red sits in fourth place in the ECAC Hockey standings with two weeks left to jostle for playoff positioning, meaning Cornell can lock up a highly coveted first-round bye as long as it keeps winning.

Wins have been the norm of late, given that Cornell (12-10-3, 10-6-2) hasn't lost to any team in 2011 not wearing the Union crest on its jerseys.
