Devin's First Pro Stop is Elmira

The Elmira Jackals announced on Thursday that they have signed former Cornell defenseman Mike Devin to a standard player contract for the 2011-12 season.

Devin enters his rookie season after skating the last four years at Cornell. In his senior season of 2010-11, the 6'2", 187-pound Devin was named an ECAC Hockey Third-Team All-Star. He totaled 15 goals and 39 assists for 54 points in his four-year career. The Scituate, Mass. product was a teammate of Jackal Evan Barlow from 2007 to 2009 with the Big Red.

"Mike is a versatile defenseman who has a good shot and likes to jump up in the play," Elmira head coach Pat Bingham said. "He's a good athlete, is physical, and I'm sure he'll have a great following here having played college hockey just down the road at Cornell."
