McLeod to Showcase Skills in Vienna
The Vienna Capitals (Austria) announced Wednesday the signing of former Cornell defenseman Kevin McLeod to a tryout agreement. McLeod spent the 2010-11 campaign with Hvidovre Ligahockey (Denmark).
A native of Calgary, Alberta, McLeod appeared in 35 games with Hvidovre, scoring seven goals and adding 16 assists for 23 points. He added two assists in four playoff games.
Prior to traveling overseas, McLeod spent three seasons with the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL). He appeared in 168 regular-season games, amassing 46 goals and 68 assists for 114 points. In 2008-09, McLeod enjoyed his finest professional season as he tied for first in the CHL among defenseman in goals scored with 20. His offensively productive year ranked him fourth on the Brahmas roster (50 points, 20 G, 30 A) in the goals, assists and points categories.
In 2009-10, McLeod also played five contests with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Before turning professinal, McLeod played at Cornell. In three years in Ithaca, the Calgary, Alberta native played in 13 contests. He amassed one assist.
