Scrivens Assigned to Reading

READING, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that former Cornell goaltender Ben Scrivens has been assigned by the Maple Leafs from the Marlies to the Royals.

This marks the sixth time this season that Scrivens (6’2/185), a first-year pro from Spruce Grove, Alberta, has been assigned to Reading. In 13 games with the Royals, Scrivens compiled a record of 10-3-0-0 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage. In his last appearance with the Royals on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey, Scrivens established a team record with his ninth consecutive win when he made 41 saves in a 4-3 victory for the Royals over the Trenton Devils.

Scrivens played 33 games this season with the Marlies, compiling a 13-12-3 record with a 2.33 goals-against average and .924 save percentage and two shutouts.
