Cornell Faces First Road Tests

ITHACA -- In reviewing the video from last Saturday's 5-4 season-opening loss to Mercyhurst, the Cornell men's hockey team got a lesson in what to do -- and what not to do -- when playing with a lead.
Positioning, making the simple pass, chipping the puck deep into the opponent's end instead of trying to make a pretty play -- all of those things were points of emphasis for coach Mike Schafer as he went over the game with his young team.
He and his Big Red are hoping to put those lessons into practice this weekend, when Cornell hits the road for the first time.
