Davenport Continues Career in Sweden

Former Cornell goaltender Troy Davenport has reached agreement to play for IK Oskarshamn (Sweden), the team announced Tuesday.

A native of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Davenport is not completely unknown to the Oskarshamn audience. He played 10 postseason games with the Nybro Vikings (Sweden) in 2009-10, registering a goals-against average of 2.27 and a save percentage of .923. In five regular-season contests, Davenport posted a goals-against average of 2.17 and a save percentage of .913. Prior to joining Nybro, Davenport played 16 games with Alvesta (Sweden).

As a member of Big Red (2005, 07-08), Davenport appeared in 29 contests. He sported a record of 11-9-2, with goals-against and save percentage marks of 2.29 and .902, respectively. Davenport’s best season was 2006-07 when he appeared in 24 games and registered an 11-7-2 record and 2.41 goals-against average.
