Knoepfli Earns Extension with HC Fribourg-Gottéron

Former Cornell forward Mike Knoepfli has signed a three-year contract extension with HC Fribourg-Gottéron (Switzerland), the team announced.

A native of Georgetown, Ontario, Knoepfli has spent the past three seasons with Fribourg-Gottéron. In 32 games this season, he has compiled 12 points on the strength of five goals. In two previous seasons with the team (2008-09 and 2009-10), Knoepfli competed in 99 games, scoring 28 goals and adding 23 assists.

Knoepfli spent the 2007-08 campaign with HC Lugano (Switzerland), competing in 50 games and registering 10 points, including one goal. He spent the 2006-07 campaign with HC Genève-Servette.

In four seasons with the Big Red, Knoepfli scored 32 goals and added 56 assists in 137 contests. He amassed a career-best 12 goals and 13 assists in 35 games during his senior campaign (2004-05).
