Take a walk along Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, N.Y., these days and you
can easily imagine yourself back in the Boston area. Or, more
precisely, Scituate.
That’s because Cornell, ranked 10th nationally and
contending with Yale for ECAC supremacy, owes much of its success
to three Scituate products: Twin brothers Joe and Mike Devin, and
Sean Whitney, the younger brother of ex-Boston University star and
current U.S. Olympian Ryan Whitney of the NHL’s Anaheim
Ducks. Joe Devin is a forward, while the other South Shore products
are defensemen.
The Big Red scored a 3-0 win against Harvard at Bright Hockey
Center on Friday night, and the Massachusetts contingent enjoyed
every minute.
