ITHACA -- Last month at Lynah Rink, Cornell did what the Yale and Rensselaer men's hockey teams may have done recently: overlook Brown.
The Big Red took three two-goal leads over the Bears Feb. 12, and each time Brown came storming back. An empty-net goal with one second left pushed Cornell's victory margin to 5-3.
Fast-forward to the ECAC Hockey playoffs, where 11th-seeded Brown has won two best-of-three series on the road, first at No. 6 RPI and last weekend over top-seeded Yale. This from a team that won six games all season.
