Cornell to Hold Red/White Scrimmage
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men’s hockey team will hold
its annual Red-White Scrimmage at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at
Lynah Rink. The defending ECAC Hockey champion Big Red will
officially open its season with the intra-squad game, giving fans
their first opportunity to watch the 2010-11 team in action as it
prepares for the upcoming season.
Tickets are $3 for adults, and $2 for students aged 15 years &
older. All youths wearing an Ithaca Youth hockey jersey or Cornell
Sports Camp T-shirt will be admitted free. Many tickets will be
distributed throughout the Tompkins County school systems, and
tickets can also be purchased at the door the night of the game. A
fun night for the entire family is planned, with many raffle prizes
to be awarded throughout the night.
Cornell will also play exhibitions against the University of
Quebec at Trois-Rivieres on Thursday, Oct. 21, and the U.S. U18
National Team on Saturday, Oct. 23. The Big Red opens the regular
season on Oct. 29-30, facing New Hampshire on Friday and RIT on
Saturday. Both squads were NCAA tournament teams a year ago in the
NCAA East Regional with Cornell, as RIT advanced to the NCAA Frozen
Four.
