Springfield Signs McLeod
SPRINGFIELD, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the
American Hockey League, announced today they have signed former
Cornell defenseman Kevin McLeod to a Professional Tryout Agreement
(PTO). McLeod is expected to join the Falcons on Wednesday as they
prepare to take on the Manchester Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless
Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire.
McLeod has played in 26 games for the Central Hockey League's
Texas Brahmas this season leading all Texas defensemen in scoring
with 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points. The 6-foot-3,
238-pound native of Calgary, Alberta has spent the last three
seasons with Texas helping lead the Brahmas to a 2009 CHL
Championship.
McLeod led all CHL defensemen in goals last year with 20, while
also adding 12 points in 16 post-season games for Texas. Before
turning pro, McLeod played his college hockey with Cornell
University.
