Iles Contines to Vie for Spot on Team USA

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - Incoming Cornell freshman Andy Iles is among 28 players who survived  the first round of cuts at the nine-day USA National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. Iles is among a group of players who will face Finland and Swede, beginning with Tuesday's game against the Swedes. The roster was cut down from 42 players on Monday morning.

The evaluation camp participants are auditioning for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team that will take part in the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2010 to Jan. 5, 2011, in Buffalo.

Iles, a native of Ithaca, N.Y., spent the 2009-10 season as a member of the U.S. National Team Development Program. He appeared in 15 contests, posting a record of 10-4 with a goals-against average of 2.29. Iles recorded two shutouts, along with a save percentage of .918.
