Kennedy Agrees to Term with Everblades
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that former Cornell forward Mike Kennedy has agreed to terms for the 2010-11 season.
Kennedy wrapped up a four-year collegiate career at Cornell University following the 2008-09 season. As a senior with the Big Red in '08-'09 the 24-year-old finished fifth on the team in points with 20 and third on the team in goals with 10 in 32 games while serving as co-captain.
"Mike is a big-bodied player who is a good skating forward," Poss said. "He uses his size well, he takes the puck hard to the net and plays a real strong pro game. Mike was on pace to play in the AHL last year, so we're happy to get a player of his quality and think he has a lot of potential."
The 6-foot-2, 205 pound winger was slated to begin the 2009-10 campaign in the American Hockey League before an injury brought an early end to his season. During the course of Kennedy's collegiate career the Dorchester, Ontario native recorded 60 points (28g, 32a) in 132 total games.
