Meaningful Bounces Going Devin's Way

ITHACA — The bounces have a funny way of evening themselves out. And it's because of that, Cornell's Joe Devin narrowly missed his first hat trick since high school.

With about 10 seconds left in Saturday's already-decided 5-1 victory over Brown, the sophomore winger found himself open in the right circle. That one final shot at his third goal of the game looked good coming off his stick, zipping over the blocker of Bears goalie Mike Clemente.

But there was one problem.
